HOUSTON BALLET PRESENTS SPECIAL PERFORMANCES OF coppelia TARGETED TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES on march 28 & 29!

The magic of Dr. Coppelius’s workshop will delight children of all ages. This 3 Act ballet is shortened to meet the needs of younger audiences while the most enchanting parts of the story come to life in this 45 minute performance.

The ballet surrounds the love between Swanhilde and Franz. Amid their celebration of love, Franz is distracted by another beautiful girl in the house of inventor Dr. Coppelius. Upon Swanhilde’s discovery that the beautiful girl is merely a life-size doll, she attempts to win back Franz’s heart by impersonating the doll as herself. Love triumphs all in this comedy of mischief and magic and ends in the charming celebration of the lovers' marriage.

The performance will take place at the Houston Ballet Center for Dance, 601 Preston Street in downtown Houston. It will last 45 minutes and will feature the young students of Houston Ballet Academy dancing to taped music.

All tickets $10. To purchase tickets, please call the Houston Ballet box office at 713.227.2787.
