Defining Moment:
My defining moment was after the 2012 Prix de Lausanne, when I wanted to become a member of Houston Ballet II. Houston Ballet II made me realize I can move my body not just in a classical way, but a contemporary way as well.

Mr. Chan is originally from Hong Kong, China. He trained at Guang Zhou Art School in China from September 2004 to June 2010. He was invited to Houston Ballet II with full scholarship and trained there from August 2010 to June 2012. Mr. Chan’s honorary awards include first place in the 2006 CSTD International Ballet Competition in Australia ; second place in the 2009 National Ballet Competition “Tao Li Cup” in China and the 2011 “Houston Ballet Academy Award”, dedicated to a dancer who exemplifies discipline, potential, talent and commitment to the art form. Mr. Chan is currently an outstanding corps de ballet member of Houston Ballet Company. Mr. Chan has performed all over the world such as China, Canada, Australia, Guatemala, Switzerland and many major cities of the US. Principle roles that Mr. Chan has accomplished include: Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty; Petipa’s Paquita; John Neumeier’s Sylvia; Stanton Welch’s A Time to Dance, Blue, Long and Winding Road, Tales of Texas and A Dance in A Garden of Mirth, Ma Cong’s Calling; and Jane Weiner’s Bloom.
