BALLET TALKS
Houston Ballet would like to introduce an entertaining and highly visual program to your school. Docents from Houston Ballet Guild are available at no charge to give a 30-45 minute presentation to formally introduce children to the art form of dance. Students will be introduced to the props, shoes, music, and stories of the ballet. This year the featured ballets will be The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty.
Under the direction of Stanton Welch, Houston Ballet has been proclaimed as "one of the nation's best ballet companies" by The New York Times. Houston enjoys a distinguished reputation in the arts, of which Houston Ballet has played a significant role. We invite you to take advantage of this free presentation and to educate children in the arts.
This presentation may be tailored to fit a small or large group. In smaller groups, children are able to ask more questions. The presentation may be targeted to a specific age group and is particularly well suited for elementary age children. During the presentation, students will be able to view by video, highlights from Houston Ballet's production of The Nutcracker or The Sleeping Beauty. The children are also invited to touch the costumes and dance items.
